Event Details
Since 2015, cremation has surpassed traditional burial in the USA. Traditional burials usually require that the body is embalmed, and cemeteries require cement or metal vaults that surround the casket. And although cremation has a smaller impact on the environment, the process still requires considerable energy usage. Cremation and traditional burial are not the only choices that are available to consumers. In this program we will look at additional options such as human composting, natural burial and aquamation and compare their environmental impact. Green burial grounds in Michigan, including the one in Williamston, will be discussed.
